On December 28, Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn publicly recalled a warm moment after his talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, illustrating their close friendship and shared understanding of peace.
According to the account, after the bilateral meeting, the Cambodian foreign minister took a moment with his “friend like an elder brother”, Wang Yi, to admire the scenery of Fuxian Lake in Yunnan, China. The calm lake and clear sky provided a setting for their exchange.
The Cambodian foreign minister said the peaceful scene reminded them that peace did not arise on its own: it was a shared responsibility, built on mutual trust and respect and sustained through common commitments and efforts towards lasting peaceful coexistence and regional harmony.
