Myanmar’s government continued to intensify efforts against telecoms and online scams and illegal gambling. On December 26 and 27, law-enforcement agencies carried out concentrated operations in KK Park’s third zone, demolishing a total of five illegal buildings over the two days as the compound’s cleanup continued.
By the time of the report, 509 of the 635 buildings originally inside KK Park had been demolished in operations described as lawful. Myanmar authorities said the operations would continue, with the aim of firmly eliminating the conditions in which illegal and criminal activities could flourish.
