Phnom Penh New City on Koh Norea, at the meeting of the Mekong and Chaktomuk waterways, is taking shape at an accelerating pace. The development covers a planned area of about 125 hectares and is being developed under the Overseas Cambodian Investment Corporation (OCIC). Continued infrastructure and urban construction in recent years have gradually made the area an important focus for Cambodia’s urban modernisation and investment, according to the report.
As overall development of Phnom Penh New City accelerates, construction recently began on the GIA Norah tower, an investment and construction project by GIA. The building is planned to be about 214.8 metres tall with 48 floors, making it one of Phnom Penh’s relatively few very tall buildings. Once completed, it is expected to become a major landmark of the new city and further reshape the area’s skyline.
The report puts total investment in the GIA Norah tower at approximately US$85.435 million, with a gross floor area of around 129,400 square metres and 253 planned units. It is located in Nirouth commune, Chbar Ampov district, Phnom Penh. Industry participants believe the launch will further enhance the new city’s modern image, strengthen the area’s appeal for property, business and investment, and give fresh impetus to the capital’s urban development.
