Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Wang Wenbin recently said that China was an important friend of Cambodia and one of the main destinations for its rice exports. The figures show that Cambodia exported a total of 940,321 tonnes of rice in 2025, including 231,125 tonnes to China, a significant share.
Citing data from the Cambodia Rice Federation, Wang said Cambodia’s rice exports rose 45 percent year on year in 2025, with a total export value of approximately US$602 million. Exports to China generated about US$138 million for Cambodia, further highlighting the key role of the Chinese market in Cambodia’s rice export landscape.
