Summary

The group included 57 women and 14 nationalities or origin categories; departures on February 14–16 used Techo airport and, for Vietnamese nationals, Prek Chak.

The General Department of Immigration said on the afternoon of February 17 that officials had processed the deportation of more than 1,000 foreigners involved in offences including online scams, online gambling and residence without passports.

The 1,089 people included 57 women and 14 nationalities or origin categories: China, Uganda, Malaysia, Indonesia, Pakistan, South Korea, Vietnam, Taiwan (China), the Philippines, Nigeria, India, Bangladesh, Kenya and Nepal. Authorities deported them on February 14, 15 and 16, 2026 through Techo International Airport, while Vietnamese nationals were returned through the Prek Chak international border checkpoint.

The reported offences included illegal border crossing, online fraud, online gambling, residence without passports and unlawful employment. The report portrayed the operation as strict enforcement against technology-enabled crime to protect people locally and globally, with no exceptions for organisers behind it, alongside efforts to rescue people deceived into scam work so they could regain freedom and return home.
