On March 18, Phnom Penh’s unified administrative command raided a location suspected of unlawful cross-border online gambling in Niroth commune, Chbar Ampov district.
Nine suspects were detained: eight Chinese nationals and one Malaysian. Officers seized 247 phones, eight all-in-one computers, two computer towers and two monitors.
Police initially assessed the site as an online gambling operation targeting overseas markets including Malaysia, Singapore and China. The nine suspects and all seized evidence were handed to Phnom Penh police for further investigation.
