In a March 23 video briefing, Minister of Mines and Energy Keo Rottanak said that although global energy markets were tight and fuel procurement was under pressure, Cambodia’s overall supply remained stable, with continued imports of aviation fuel, petrol and diesel intended to meet daily demand.
He said international supplies of petrol, diesel, aviation fuel and LPG were under pressure, but Cambodia was managing supply through diversified imports and cooperation with companies including Caltex and TotalEnergies. The ministry was coordinating with relevant agencies and encouraging businesses to arrange procurement early in response to market changes.
The report also describes temporary fuel tax relief intended to reduce costs for businesses and households. With LPG supply particularly tight, seven importers were arranging supplies for March and April and further procurement. The government said it would bear higher costs to maintain reliable electricity supply and seek stable tariffs, avoiding widespread shortages.
