Prime Minister Hun Manet called for uncompromising determination against online scams at a public event in Svay Rieng on the morning of March 26. He urged law-enforcement agencies to maintain firm pressure on such criminal activity and drive it out of Cambodia.
He said tackling the crime affects public security, the country’s image, tourism and investment, and that a secure and transparent environment is a foundation for development.
He called on provincial unified command structures to take responsibility for local enforcement so that no locality would be stigmatised by scam activity.
