On March 27, Pailin provincial authorities and joint law-enforcement forces inspected a remote area in Sala Krau district and raided premises suspected of telecom and online scams. Authorities said the site had recently been established in secret for unlawful activities.

The operation was directed by the provincial governor with coordination by the provincial court prosecutor. Seventeen foreign suspects were detained, and officers secured and inspected the premises through a closely coordinated deployment.

The site was temporarily sealed under legal procedures, and the suspects and evidence were transferred to provincial police for further investigation. The report also cites official figures saying that since June 2025 Cambodia had closed about 250 scam sites and 91 implicated casinos, with about 210,000 people leaving the relevant compounds and about 10,000 foreigners expelled, Chinese nationals forming the largest group among those expelled.
