Summary

The cruise ship arrived on April 2 for a planned two-day call, described by local reception officials as a first for a large cruise ship in Cambodia.

At 8 a.m. on April 2, the international cruise ship Seven Seas Mariner entered Sihanoukville Autonomous Port carrying 614 international tourists and 461 crew members, more than 1,000 people in total. It was scheduled to remain in Sihanoukville for two days before departing.

Local officials receiving the visitors said this was the first time a large cruise ship had stayed in Cambodia for two consecutive days, and the first time an international cruise ship had arranged for its passengers to spend an extended period sightseeing in Sihanoukville. They viewed this as a sign of cruise operators’ and visitors’ confidence in Cambodia’s tourism environment and safety.

According to the Preah Sihanouk provincial tourism department, 11 international cruise ships called at the port in the first three months of 2026, bringing more than 20,000 foreign tourists. The visitors mainly toured local development sites and coastal attractions, which the report said continued to support tourism in Sihanoukville.
