According to AKP’s account of the April 8 meeting, France-based VINCI is a leading European company whose activities include airports, railways, highways, bridges and other investment projects; it has invested in Cambodia’s airport sector for more than 30 years. During the meeting, the CEO of VINCI Airports outlined the company’s focus on strengthening partnerships with international airlines to expand direct flight connections to Cambodia and promote the country’s tourism potential to attract more visitors.
VINCI Airports Chief Executive Officer Rémi Maumont de Longevialle outlined these plans during an April 8 discussion with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet. The Prime Minister was visiting France from April 6 to 9 and attending the One Health Summit in Lyon.
The company executive expressed a commitment to work with the Cambodian government to develop the aviation industry and seek new opportunities to expand investment and business operations in Cambodia.
Responding to VINCI’s plans, Hun Manet discussed the official opening of Techo International Airport and said the government had tasked relevant ministries and institutions with discussions with companies and the private sector to identify new ways to strengthen Cambodia’s competitiveness. He stressed that Cambodia’s main objective was to expand direct flights from countries around the world.
Hun Manet encouraged the company to continue discussions and build closer links with the relevant ministries and institutions to identify new opportunities and further develop its business.
