Despite difficult travelling conditions on the Veal Renh–Trapeang Ropov road, the route remained important for people making their journeys. At dawn on April 14, 2026, the first day of Khmer New Year, a steady stream of travellers was observed along this section of National Road 3, heading to their hometowns to reunite with their families for the traditional New Year celebrations.
