Summary

The report lists 119 participants at a 7 May seminar on the National Audit Authority’s responsibilities, independent external audit and cooperation with audited entities.

According to the report, the National Audit Authority held a seminar on its roles and duties at Sokha Hotel in Preah Sihanouk on 7 May 2026. The 119 participants included leaders and civil servants from specialist departments and relevant units, armed-forces personnel, city, district, commune and sangkat leaders, and representatives of some concession companies.

The seminar was presided over by Deputy Auditor-General សួន សិទ្ធី, representing Auditor-General សោម គីមសួគ៌, with Preah Sihanouk Provincial Council Member គង់ វិតាណៈ and Deputy Governor Min Kompheak attending.

In his welcome remarks, Min Kompheak described the seminar as an important opportunity for civil servants to better understand the National Audit Authority’s roles and duties and help strengthen public-administration efficiency.

សួន សិទ្ធី said the seminar aimed to improve subnational civil servants’ understanding of the external audit of government performed by the National Audit Authority, encouraging cooperation and support for more effective auditing.

He said high-quality, transparent audits would help improve governance, reduce errors in managing and using the national budget, protect state assets and strengthen public confidence.

ឡុង អាទិច្ចបូរា, Secretary-General and trainer at the National Audit Authority, gave a presentation on three main points:
1. The National Audit Authority’s mandate.
2. Key concepts in public auditing.
3. The importance of the relationship between the National Audit Authority and audited entities.

The report describes the National Audit Authority as an independent public institution that examines audited entities, recommends improvements to shortcomings, submits audit reports to the National Assembly, Senate and Royal Government, and makes reports public.
