Tboung Khmum: According to the report, joint forces under provincial governor and unified-command head ប៉ែន កុសល្យ carried out administrative inspections at suspected locations to prevent online scams and identify foreign nationals staying unlawfully.
It says the operation took place on May 8, 2026, with procedures coordinated by a representative of the prosecutor’s office attached to the provincial court. Officers inspected villas, guesthouses and rental rooms suspected of hosting unreported foreign residents or being used for technology-related crime.
According to the report, officers inspected three guesthouses comprising 57 rooms. Initial checks had not found foreign nationals staying unlawfully or items connected with online scams at those premises.
Despite finding no offences at that stage, the provincial administration said regular inspections would continue and expand across all seven municipalities and districts to strengthen security, public order and the prevention of digital crime.
The report also says provincial authorities publicised government Sub-Decree No. 03 to business-premises owners and residents, encouraging cooperation in reporting and preventing offences, particularly technology-related crime.
The provincial administration described continuing administrative inspections as an important measure to strengthen safety and public order and provide residents with a secure living environment. By: សុខ ស៊ីណាន
