Cambodian beauty queen Koy Anna (កុយ អេនណា) continued showcasing Khmer cultural identity internationally, appearing in Khmer sabai attire in Paris, France, in mid-May 2026.
According to the report, she posted a short video with the caption, “Just me and my beautiful sabai khmer in Paris.” Through the appearance, Koy Anna expressed pride in her national culture and shared the beauty of the Khmer sabai with a wider audience.
The appearance in France followed an earlier presentation of Khmer culture in Times Square, New York. The report describes a video lasting less than a minute, in which she greeted viewers in French and spoke about bringing Khmer cultural identity to the international stage. She also asked her supporters which country they would like to see her visit next in Khmer sabai attire.
With the Eiffel Tower, a famous symbol of Paris, as a backdrop, the report portrays the appearance as a meaningful effort to promote Khmer culture and national identity and increase their international recognition.
The report recalls that in April, Koy Anna drew an enthusiastic response from Cambodian supporters after walking through New York City's Times Square in Khmer sabai attire. Times Square is a well-known, busy commercial and tourist area in the United States. The report describes that appearance as an important step in introducing Khmer culture to the world.
In the report's view, these activities show both the beauty and elegance of the Khmer sabai and the distinct identity, long history and valuable heritage of Khmer culture. It calls on Cambodians to help preserve and promote that heritage internationally.
