The General Department of Immigration said it deported 310 Chinese and Vietnamese nationals, including 52 women, on May 27, 2026 in connection with online-scam cases and unlawful residence or employment. Acting on instructions from Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sar Sokha, immigration director-general Lieutenant General Sok Veasna directed the Investigation and Procedure Department to carry out the removals. The department said 173 Chinese nationals, including six women, left on a special flight through Techo International Airport, while 137 Vietnamese nationals, including 46 women, were removed through the Kaam Samnor international border checkpoint.
The department described the removals as part of the enforcement campaign directed by Prime Minister Hun Manet and the Ministry of Interior. It said the campaign aimed to eliminate technology-enabled crime, protect public safety, pursue those behind scam operations and rescue people deceived into working in them, enabling victims to regain their freedom and return home.
