A major fire broke out on June 4 at a foam-box factory in Phnom Penh’s Dangkao district, causing alarm. Nearly 80% of the roughly 5,000-square-metre factory building was damaged.
According to authorities, the fire destroyed one foam-production machine, over 40,000 bales of foam boxes and substantial raw materials for foam production. No deaths or injuries were reported.
Fire police dispatched 18 engines after being alerted, using about 216 cubic metres of water in 36 water-supply runs before bringing the situation fully under control. Authorities were investigating the exact cause.
