On June 5, Deputy National Police Commissioner and Phnom Penh police chief Chuon Narin reported that anti-scam inspections in the first five days of June had uncovered five drug-related cases.
Police arrested 24 suspects, including eight women, and said they dismantled concealed criminal sites.

Police identified the 24 as 12 Vietnamese nationals, six people from mainland China, five from Taiwan and one British national, describing the cases as cross-border in character.
Officers seized drugs and cannabis weighing over 66 kilograms in total, including 65 kilograms of dried cannabis, as well as six electronic scales, 28 phones described as used in the offences, three motorcycles, one car, 16 passports and drug-use equipment.

The report says preliminary questioning and evidence gathering in the five cases had concluded, presenting the response to the foreign suspects as firm enforcement.
Police had prepared the files and were referring the 24 suspects and seized evidence to judicial authorities under legal procedures. The report predicts severe legal consequences.
