Preah Sihanouk governor Mang Sineth presented a summary of first-half 2026 achievements and future directions on the afternoon of June 6, 2026. He said that under the seventh-term government led by Prime Minister Hun Manet, the province had continued the Pentagonal Strategy and priority programmes to advance economic and social development and livelihoods.
The report says first-half priorities included party work, IT-based membership management and combating technology-enabled fraud. Systematic land-registration zones had been declared in all 111 villages. Agriculture was supported through a marine-aquaculture life-skills centre, while tourism remained important for growth and jobs. Health and education were strengthened through infrastructure, services and human resources. The government continued the province’s special investment-promotion programme to 2027, while the provincial administration mobilised charitable aid for displaced people and forces defending territorial integrity.
Future directions include supporting government policy, strengthening security, services and local development, attracting investment, building confidence, developing human resources and planning land use according to potential. At the first-half review meeting, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction Say Samal said Cambodia faced reputational attacks concerning online scams and all parties should prevent and suppress such crime effectively.
He instructed authorities and enforcement bodies at every level to strengthen security, order and public safety to reassure residents, visitors and investors, and improve controls on entry and exit by land, water and air.
He also urged coastal connecting infrastructure, digital education, agriculture and aquaculture, and stronger health services to improve livelihoods.
Finally, Deputy Prime Minister Say Samal called on relevant institutions to make public services faster and more effective and increase residents’ and investors’ confidence in Preah Sihanouk.
