Summary

Citing BTV, the report says a Sen Sok cold store was inspected on June 10 on suspicion of Thai imports. Officials had not confirmed the meat’s origin or the legality of its documentation that afternoon.

A warehouse holding hundreds of tonnes of frozen meat in ក្រាំងធ្នង់ sangkat, Sen Sok district, Phnom Penh, was searched and inspected by a joint enforcement team on the afternoon of June 10, 2026, on suspicion that the meat had been imported from Thailand, according to an earlier BTV report.

Preliminary information from the inspection team said the warehouse stored large volumes of frozen meat, amounting to hundreds of tonnes a day, with several business owners jointly renting space to keep their goods. The meat was suspected of being imported from Thailand before entering cold storage and being distributed to markets in Phnom Penh and some provinces.

As of that afternoon, specialist officials had not officially confirmed whether the stored meat had in fact been imported from Thailand. Authorities had also not confirmed whether the imports and storage had proper legal documentation or involved any irregularities; inspections and document checks were continuing.
