On June 15, Banteay Meanchey’s unified administrative command and relevant enforcement agencies continued anti-scam operations in Poipet, inspecting two suspected sites and identifying 63 foreign nationals while seizing potentially relevant items.
According to the provincial administration, 51 Thai nationals, including 21 women, were found in a four-story building in 乌祖 sangkat. Suspected electronic devices and other items were referred to police as evidence. Most people were sent to a designated placement center, while a few were handed to police for further investigation.
At a separate two-story house, authorities found 12 Indonesian nationals, including one woman, and suspected evidence. Those people were sent to a designated location for further checks and processing.
The sites have been temporarily sealed under legal procedures. The authorities said they would intensify action against online scams and other cross-border offenses through further inspections to maintain public order and safety.
