Commerce Ministry Under-Secretary of State សំ សិទ្ធិស័ក្តិ presided over the opening of a workshop on promoting promising Cambodian products in the Canadian market at the Kampong Speu provincial Commerce Department on 29 June 2026.
Participants included Kampong Speu Deputy Governor ជាវ វិជ្ជាក់, representatives of relevant departments, the chamber of commerce, the private sector, traders, businesspeople, exporters and higher-education institutions.
The workshop aimed to provide information on Canadian market opportunities, trade policy, market diversification, rules of origin and procedures for exporting Cambodian goods to Canada.
Commerce Ministry specialists delivered three main presentations:
1. A guide to exporting to the Canadian market.
2. Export procedures and rules of origin for exports to Canada.
3. Cambodia’s preparations for graduation from the least developed country (LDC) category.
The workshop was expected to strengthen Cambodian producers’ and exporters’ capacity to expand markets and become more competitive internationally, particularly in Canada.
