Phnom Penh: On the morning of July 9, 2026, សុវណ្ណ វណ្ណារតន៍, standing secretary of state representing Minister of Labour and Vocational Training ហេង សួរ, met and advised 18 recipients of Czech government scholarships for 2026, including seven women.
The scholarship recipients come from ministries, institutions, the private sector and non-governmental organisations. They will leave in September 2026 to pursue master’s degrees and doctorates at universities in the Czech Republic.
The standing secretary of state encouraged all recipients to make full use of this valuable opportunity by studying hard, developing their abilities and demonstrating Cambodian young people’s potential internationally. She also urged them to build networks with international students and professionals to broaden their knowledge, experience and future cooperation.
She stressed that Cambodian young people now have wider opportunities to obtain advanced education and skills and compete internationally. Students can also promote Cambodia’s potential by presenting the realities of the country’s development and investment opportunities to overseas friends and investors. The ministry is continuing to expand employment opportunities, including for workers returning from Thailand and people affected by what the report describes as Thai military aggression, through the National Employment Agency (NEA) and hotline 1297, to facilitate job searches and vocational training enrolment.
The standing secretary of state expressed the hope that “all scholarship recipients will succeed in their studies, acquire new knowledge and experience in the Czech Republic, and return to serve their homeland as capable, high-quality, qualified and innovative human resources, helping further Cambodia’s social and economic development.”
