Oddar Meanchey: ទេព អស្នារិទ្ធ, Undersecretary of State and spokesperson for the Ministry of Information, encouraged provincial information officials to continue strengthening their skills and take a more active role as effective “official information channels”, providing the public with accurate, clear and timely information.
He made the remarks while chairing an orientation meeting on “Information and Public Opinion Work” for civil servants at the Oddar Meanchey Provincial Department of Information on July 17, 2026.
ទេព អស្នារិទ្ធ praised the Oddar Meanchey Provincial Department of Information for working well with security forces and local authorities to facilitate national and international journalists’ reporting and photography during what he described as Thailand’s aggression. He said this enabled domestic and international audiences to receive accurate information about conditions and developments in areas subjected to armed attacks during what he described as aggression by the Thai military.
The spokesperson also urged information officials to undertake information and public opinion work more regularly and not allow false information to keep circulating on social media. This should include more effective cooperation with local journalists and relevant stakeholders, to regularly provide accurate information about the government’s and each provincial administration’s efforts in local development, security and public order.
All news content produced by provincial information departments should be published on their official websites and shared through social media such as Facebook, Telegram and TikTok, as well as traditional media including radio and television, to improve the effectiveness of information management and dissemination.
The spokesperson stressed that comprehensive, accurate and timely local reporting would make it easier for residents, investors and tourists to learn about provincial information and the potential of local tourism destinations.
