According to the update, the overall project had reached 79% completion as of early July 2026. Road works were 51% complete. Within those works, the 804.3-metre connecting road was 50% complete, while construction of the 1,541-metre ramps had also reached 50%.
The Phnom Penh Bassac River bridge project formally broke ground on February 19, 2024, at a ceremony attended by Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and the Chinese ambassador to Cambodia. Work is currently proceeding according to the planned schedule, with the entire project expected to be completed by the end of 2027.
