Phnom Penh — Prime Minister Hun Manet said the Cambodian government would introduce a number of targeted measures to address key problems facing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
In a Facebook message on the morning of July 25, 2026, he said: “Based on your suggestions and the findings of further research and consultation with stakeholders, especially the private sector, the government will introduce a number of targeted measures to address key problems facing SMEs.”
At the cabinet meeting the previous morning, the prime minister had also instructed all relevant ministries and institutions to speed up procedures for registering small and medium-sized enterprises.
He stressed that entrepreneurs registering SMEs should no longer have to seek approvals from many different ministries and institutions as before. The relevant bodies should work together to simplify all procedures for applicants and protect their interests through effective action against counterfeit products.
Hun Manet added that he would personally monitor the work and push for its successful completion.
