Summary

A delegation of 74 entrepreneurs from 60 Chinese companies visited Cambodia on July 22–24 to explore investment and cooperation opportunities.

A stable political environment and continually improving investment conditions have continued to attract Chinese businesses to Cambodia. From July 22 to 24, a Chinese business investment delegation led by 祁方 made a fact-finding visit to Cambodia. Its members expressed strong approval of the local business environment after their field visits, further strengthening their confidence in investment cooperation in the country.

The delegation brought together 74 entrepreneurs from 60 companies across China, covering key sectors including new energy, smart manufacturing, modern agriculture, healthcare, digital technology, cross-border e-commerce, logistics, cultural tourism and financial services. On July 24, guided by 蒙万迪, vice president of the Cambodian association of veterans and retirees and an adviser to Hun Sen, the delegation visited the DP agricultural base in Kampong Chhnang province to learn about local industries and investment opportunities.

祁方 said that, before the visit, negative information online had left delegation members with concerns about Cambodia’s security and stability. After seeing conditions on the ground, he said, they witnessed a stable society and positive development, dispelled their earlier doubts and formed a new, objective understanding of the political environment and investment prospects. Political stability had also become an important source of confidence for companies investing in Cambodia.

The visit involved research by region and sector, focusing on agriculture, manufacturing and the consumer market. Many entrepreneurs showed strong interest in soap production projects and visited local supermarkets and shopping outlets to study consumer demand. The delegation will continue discussions with Cambodian counterparts to explore the feasibility of implementing projects in relevant industries.

The delegation also hoped that the Cambodian government would continue improving business policies and implementing investment safeguards, import incentives and supporting services to help foreign-invested businesses operate and develop. The visit demonstrated Chinese companies’ recognition of the Cambodian market and laid a foundation for deeper Cambodia–China economic and trade cooperation across multiple sectors.
