Summary

Tourism Minister Huot Hak said the July 29 forum could foster public–private cooperation and attract Chinese visitors and investors.

Tourism Minister Huot Hak said tourism provides not only income and jobs but also a bridge to direct investment opportunities. He spoke on the morning of July 29 at the 2026 Tourism Business Forum and Chinese tourism familiarisation trip in Preah Sihanouk, under the theme “Promoting the Green Season Campaign: Visit Preah Sihanouk–Cambodia.”

The minister described the forum as an ideal venue to gather views and seek new cooperation between the public and private sectors. He hoped it would lead to many major business agreements and that the Chinese delegates would take home positive impressions of the province’s tourism potential, new investment opportunities and warm welcome, and of Cambodia as a whole. He encouraged them to promote Cambodia, especially Preah Sihanouk, to Chinese and international tourists and investors to increase visitor and investment flows.

Huot Hak invited Chinese friends, both tourists and investors, to come to Cambodia with confidence and experience the Cambodian people’s friendly hospitality, sincere smiles and warm welcome.

The minister stressed that Cambodia was not only an attractive destination but, he said, a place where stays, recreation and business would run smoothly and visitors could feel safe and warmly welcomed, as though returning home.
