The Preah Sihanouk provincial administration has set five priorities to encourage more Chinese investors and tourists to visit the province: 1. Strengthen tourism business networks and develop new tour packages; 2. Improve service quality and develop luxury tourism resorts; 3. Make use of the Special Programme to Promote Investment in Preah Sihanouk Province; 4. Strengthen air, water, rail and road connections, particularly by increasing direct flights from China; and 5. Organise familiarisation trips (Fam Trips) to promote the province’s tourism potential in international markets.
The five priorities were outlined by Preah Sihanouk Deputy Governor ឡុង ឌីម៉ង់ at the closing ceremony of the 2026 Tourism Business Forum on the afternoon of July 29, 2026. The forum’s theme was “Promoting the Green Season Campaign: Visit Preah Sihanouk Province, Cambodia”.
ឡុង ឌីម៉ង់ added that the provincial administration welcomes development partners and investors of all nationalities, especially Chinese investors, and pledged to maintain security, public order and safety for investors and tourists visiting the province.
He thanked leaders, distinguished guests, investors, and national and international partners for their active participation and contributions to the forum’s success.
The deputy governor said the forum had created important opportunities to strengthen Cambodia–China cooperation in tourism promotion, business-to-business (B2B) matching and tourism investment. It also provided opportunities to share experience, showcase tourism potential and investment opportunities, and expand networks among tourism operators from both countries.
He added that despite continuing global economic challenges and geopolitical uncertainty, the Royal Government of Cambodia would continue implementing policies to promote tourism and investment, supporting economic growth and strengthening national competitiveness.
ឡុង ឌីម៉ង់ also called on authorities, the private sector, associations, journalists, content creators and young people to keep working together to promote Preah Sihanouk’s tourism potential, improve service quality and contribute to sustainable tourism development.
The provincial administration also presented certificates of appreciation to private-sector development partners who had supported the province’s tourism and economic development.
