Summary

A 52-member Chinese delegation from Guangdong, Chengdu, Shanghai and Hainan visited tourism and cultural sites in Preah Sihanouk on July 30, 2026.

To explore and promote Preah Sihanouk province’s tourism potential, a 52-member Chinese delegation from Guangdong province (Guangdong), Chengdu city (Chengdu), Shanghai city (Shanghai) and Hainan province (Hainan) visited tourism and cultural sites in the province on the morning of July 30, 2026.

The visit by the 52-member Chinese delegation was led and coordinated by Ms ណៃ សាលី, deputy director of the Preah Sihanouk provincial administration. It aimed to promote the province’s potential and showcase its natural, cultural and historical attractions to China’s tourism market, particularly to build confidence and attract Chinese investment in tourism and services, while strengthening tourism cooperation between Preah Sihanouk and Chinese provinces and cities.

Under the coordination of Ms ណៃ សាលី, the delegation visited four key locations in the province. First, at វត្តឥន្ទញ្ញាណ, also known as Wat Krom, delegates learned about religion, culture, traditional Khmer architecture, casting arts and paintings depicting Buddhist history. Second, the attractive beach areas: improved beaches and areas with environmental sanitation measures, where the provincial administration sought to showcase the beauty of the coast, fresh air, coastal infrastructure and environmental hygiene measures in preparation for domestic and international visitors.

Third, the Preah Thong and Neang Neak statue: specialist officials introduced the delegation to the symbolism of Khmer ancestral culture and history through the imposing statue beside the coastal road, a popular photo spot for tourists. Fourth, កោះរាជបុត្រ: the provincial administration wanted delegates to visit and learn about the potential for natural marine tourism, island development and investment in marine leisure services.

Ms ណៃ សាលី expressed hope that the visit would help spread accurate information about security, safety and the appeal of Preah Sihanouk more widely among Chinese citizens and investors.
