Summary

Governor Mang Sineth inspected drainage bottlenecks on July 30, 2026, and ordered urgent clearing of drains and canals to reduce rainwater flooding.

On the morning of July 30, 2026, Preah Sihanouk Governor Mang Sineth led specialist officials from the provincial departments of water resources and meteorology, public works and transport, and land management, urban planning and construction, together with relevant units, to inspect drainage systems, canals and streams at locations where water flow was obstructed.

The inspection followed several days of continuous heavy rain that flooded some areas and affected residents’ daily lives.
During the visit, the governor instructed specialist officials to take immediate measures to clear and improve drains, canals and waterways so they could function properly again, ensure effective water flow, reduce blockages and prevent flooding during heavy rain.

The measures aim to protect residents’ property and reduce damage to public infrastructure in the province.
That morning, the governor also directed officials to deploy machinery and workers to speed up drainage restoration and reopen water flow in priority areas, particularly along Independence Road and June 28 Road in Sangkat 3, Sihanoukville.
