To help ensure the smooth running of the forthcoming Francophonie Summit hosted by Cambodia and strengthen security, public order and emergency response arrangements, the National Police’s Bodyguard Department conducted its fourth large-scale motorcade escort drill in Phnom Penh and at Techo International Airport on the afternoon of July 31, 2026. The exercise followed instructions from General Sar Thet, National Police Commissioner General and Chair of the summit’s fourth subcommittee on security, public order and rescue.
The exercise followed the established plan, with orderly procedures and coordination, and completed all the scheduled drills. The participating police personnel carried out their duties responsibly, demonstrating professionalism and discipline.
Lieutenant General 毅林, Deputy Commissioner General of the National Police overseeing its Bodyguard Department, thanked residents and travellers for their understanding, patience and cooperation with the temporary traffic congestion caused by the motorcade exercise. Further security drills are planned as preparations for the summit continue.
