Summary

A passport branch opened on the third floor of Diamond Plaza KPS in Sihanoukville to bring ordinary passport application services closer to residents.

(Preah Sihanouk) — The Preah Sihanouk provincial passport branch officially opened on the morning of August 1, 2026. It is located on the third floor of Diamond Plaza KPS in Sihanoukville. The ceremony was presided over by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sar Sokha and his wife, កែ សួនសុភី ស សុខា. Preah Sihanouk Governor Mang Sineth and other provincial leaders welcomed and accompanied them.

Speaking to reporters at the ceremony, Sar Sokha said the branch focuses on receiving and processing applications for ordinary passports. Its services include document checks, photography, biometric data collection, application intake and guidance on procedures. Services must follow established principles, procedures and work standards.

Sar Sokha explained that applicants generally need a valid Cambodian national identity card and supporting documents appropriate to their circumstances. For children, the required documents include a copy of the registered birth certificate, proof of residence and their parents’ Cambodian national identity cards.

The minister added that local passport services offer several benefits: lower costs and less time spent travelling, easier access to services, reduced crowding at other branches, public services closer to communities and greater public confidence in those services.
