Recently, TikTok accounts, and possibly accounts on other social networks, have circulated videos containing false claims about the introduction of a new type of riel banknote, accompanied by AI-generated images of fictitious banknote designs.
The National Bank of Cambodia completely rejects these fabricated reports and strongly condemns those responsible. The bank is cooperating with the competent authorities to take action and urges the public not to share the false information, which could mislead other people.
The National Bank of Cambodia states that it has widely publicized every type of banknote in circulation and closely manages the different banknotes.
