Agriculture and agro-processing
Coastal cooperation from raw materials and primary processing to higher-value processing and trade.

Coastal agriculture and agro-processing development spans cultivation, primary and higher-value processing, and trade. The planning approach connects Preah Sihanouk’s port and export links with agricultural and fisheries resources in Koh Kong, Kampot and Kep.
Sourcing areas and processing roles
Koh Kong offers links to tropical fruit and aquatic-product sourcing and initial processing. Kampot brings pepper, sea salt, aquatic products and fruit; Kep connects seafood, traditional salt production and food services. Preah Sihanouk can link these to higher-value processing, storage, packaging and maritime exports. Confirm quantities by product, season and sourcing contract.
Specific processing activities
Fruit activities include grading, drying, juices, purées and jams; spices involve drying, grinding, blending and retail packs; aquatic products require chilling, freezing, hygienic packaging or drying. Rice, coconuts and cashews also feature in coastal food-processing directions. Compare raw-material reliability, process water, energy, cold storage and transport when choosing a process.
Prepare the route to market
Build supplier and batch-traceability records, define specifications, packaging, shelf life and temperature requirements, and then check food, quarantine, labelling and import conditions for the destination. Export readiness depends on testing, certification, storage, transport and buyer acceptance as well as equipment. Province-wide estimates or general tariff claims cannot replace a product-specific assessment.
