Kampot

Cultural and nature tourism, agro-processing and industrial logistics.

Kampot town

Kampot’s development directions combine cultural and nature tourism, agro-processing, port connections and industrial logistics, drawing on its agricultural products, landscapes and regional transport links.

Raw materials and specialty processing

Kampot’s agricultural value chains include pepper, sea salt, aquatic products and tropical fruits. Pepper-related activities can extend to drying, grinding, grading and packaging; fruit processing may involve dried products, juices, jams and cold chains. Distinguish locally grown inputs from supplies sourced elsewhere, and check traceability, food safety and certification for the intended market.

Port areas, roads and industrial clusters

The spatial framework proposes a coastal development belt, a provincial core and four linked clusters: port-related industry, Bokor mountain tourism, construction materials and Kep tourism. National Road 3, Kampot Port and the Kampot Logistics and Multipurpose Port are important reference points. Check each facility’s operator, available services and implementation status separately; planned bypasses or waterways should not be presented as operating infrastructure.

Combining tourism and agriculture

Kampot’s historic urban areas, riverfront, Bokor and pepper-growing areas provide different settings for cultural guiding, mountain leisure, farm visits and food experiences. Business planning extends beyond accommodation to guides, bookings, sourcing and transport connections. Farm visits should work with production activities, community interests and environmental capacity.

Sites, services and procedures

Food businesses should check process water, cold storage, hygiene and transport to export nodes. Construction-material and other manufacturers also need power, heavy-vehicle access and environmental checks. Prepare a description of products, processes, land needs, investment scale and staffing before discussing registration, sector licences and QIP eligibility. Compare costs using written site terms rather than location claims alone.

Industrial-zone and port-area leads

Kampot Special Economic Zone and the port areas are specific leads for investigating manufacturing and logistics locations. For food, construction materials or other production, verify the site, operator, available premises, heavy-vehicle access, water, electricity and discharge treatment. A zone name is not a substitute for technical and contractual terms.
