Cambodia has continued to enforce strict legal measures, deporting a total of 180 Indonesian nationals (29 of them women) from the country through the police post at Techo International Airport on 18 October 2026, after they were found to be involved in online scam offenses.

This large-scale deportation of foreign nationals was carried out in line with the absolute directive of Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, in the crackdown on cross-border offenses. Samdech Thipadei has stated clearly that Cambodia absolutely will not allow any criminals or lawbreakers to take advantage of Cambodian territory as a base for committing scam offenses that undermine security in the region and the world, and that authorities must continue to sweep, suppress and deport without exception in order to safeguard national honor and security.
Under the direct leadership and guidance of His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister Sar Sokha, Minister of Interior, specialized law enforcement forces are stepping up their activities to prevent and eliminate all forms of technology-related offenses, through meticulous investigations that lead to the suppression of major ringleaders, as well as helping scam victims regain their freedom and safely repatriate to their home countries.
