On the morning of October 22, 2026, a delegation from Cambodia’s Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport, led by Under Secretary of State Dr Bo Chankoulika, attended the Ninth Forum on Education Cooperation in South and Southeast Asia. The forum was organised by the Yunnan Provincial Department of Education and Kunming University of Science and Technology (KUST).
Bo Chankoulika said the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) had opened opportunities for the region, while education prepared people to benefit from them amid rapid advances in artificial intelligence and technology.
She outlined four strategic priorities:
1. Strengthening skills for employment.
2. Sharing scientific and technological talent through a regional engineering education alliance.
3. Promoting youth entrepreneurship.
4. Advancing inclusive development.
The under secretary also put forward three practical proposals to build regional skills, standards and solidarity:
1. Establishing partnerships between schools and universities across RCEP member countries.
2. Promoting mutual recognition of qualifications, starting with engineering and technical fields.
3. Using RCEP cooperation programmes for education and training. By: ស្រីពី
