Cambodia is actively promoting cooperation with China’s Henan province in agricultural technology, agricultural processing and supply chains, further expanding agricultural business and trade ties between the two countries.
From October 30 to November 1, the 2026 ASEAN–China (Henan) Cooperation and Development Conference on Food and Agriculture and the Fifth Belt and Road (Henan) International Agricultural Cooperation Expo were held in Zhengzhou, China. Hong Narith, Under Secretary of State at Cambodia’s Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries; Svay Nakry, Under Secretary of State at the Ministry of Commerce; and Soeung Rathchavy, Cambodia’s Ambassador to China, were among those attending the related activities.

Speaking at the conference, Hong Narith said Cambodia and China could draw on cooperation mechanisms such as the Fish and Rice Corridor to strengthen modern agricultural technology transfer, investment in supply chains, agricultural processing and agricultural trade.
He noted that China has strengths in digital agriculture and industrial development, while Cambodia has land, labour and agricultural resources. The two countries’ agricultural development is highly complementary, with broad potential for cooperation.

During the conference, Hong Narith also held talks with representatives of Henan’s agriculture and rural affairs authorities, exchanging views on expanding agricultural cooperation and advancing the implementation of related cooperation initiatives.
The event provided a new opportunity for Cambodia and Henan province to deepen agricultural cooperation, expand trade in agricultural products and attract agricultural investment.
