The Thai military’s war of aggression against Cambodian territory has entered its third week since December 7, 2025. Meanwhile, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun announced China’s support and appreciation for ASEAN’s efforts, especially those of Malaysia, to end the conflict completely and achieve full peace. According to the Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson’s official Facebook page on December 22, China reaffirmed that, as a friend and close neighbour of both countries, it sincerely hoped fighting would stop and peace would be restored, serving the broader interests of peace and stability along their border and the fundamental interests of both peoples. Beijing has been engaging with both sides in its own way to work toward peace. China will also continue actively working for peace and play a constructive role in easing tensions.
