(Preah Sihanouk) Diamond Princess arrived in the province carrying nearly 3,000 passengers and crew of various nationalities, on the third calendar day of the ceasefire with Thailand.
The Bermuda-flagged Diamond Princess docked at Sihanoukville Autonomous Port on the morning of December 29, 2025. Tourism Minister Huot Hak and Preah Sihanouk Governor Mang Sineth personally welcomed the visitors.
Huot Hak said the port call was no coincidence: it sent a message to the world that Cambodia enjoyed peace, political stability and development across sectors. He added that the country’s diverse tourism destinations attracted domestic and international visitors, particularly to Preah Sihanouk.
Mang Sineth likewise highlighted the province’s strong potential in tourism, investment and logistics and said the deep-water port was being expanded to accommodate large international ships. He stressed that the arrival of foreign visitors demonstrated Cambodia’s peaceful environment.
The cruise ship carried 2,850 passengers and crew in total, including 1,566 women, representing 52 nationalities. Of these, 1,051 were crew members, including 245 women, from 51 nationalities. The largest nationality groups were Australians, numbering 824, and Americans, numbering 797. The ship was due to leave Cambodia that evening for Thailand.
