Speaking at the opening of the Commerce Ministry’s conference to review trade work in 2025 and set directions for 2026 on January 8, Commerce Minister Cham Nimul said Cambodia had broadened its diversification of global markets by opening new markets and increasing its product export destinations to 169 countries in 2025.
The minister added that Cambodia’s main trading partners in 2025 included China, ASEAN, the United States, the European Union, Japan, Canada, the United Kingdom, the Republic of Korea, Australia, India and the United Arab Emirates, among others, with total trade of nearly US$66 billion.
Cham Nimul said the growth in new export markets would help enhance Cambodia’s reputation and competitive advantage in regional and global supply chains and create greater added value in value chains for production and investors.
Cambodia’s main exports to international markets include garments, footwear, travel goods and bags, rice, cashew nuts, palm sugar, cassava, vehicle tyres, rubber, electronics, bicycles, electrical wires and wiring harnesses, furniture and animal feed, among other goods.
The minister said the Commerce Ministry would continue to promote economic and trade development by strengthening existing markets, expanding into new ones, integrating into the regional and global economy, and maintaining stability in the domestic market. By: Pai Sokhim.
