Following instructions from the leadership, Ngoun Oudom, head of the Cambodian People’s Party working group supporting Ream sangkat and deputy head of the government working group supporting Ream in Kampong Som city, Preah Sihanouk province, joined the Ream sangkat team and the working group supporting the sangkat on the afternoon of January 9, 2026. They visited servicemen who had recently come home to visit and some residents in need, providing the following assistance.
Four military families facing financial hardship received assistance. Each family was given 400,000 riel, 25 kilograms of rice, instant noodles, drinking water, fish sauce and soy sauce.
Eight military families in more stable financial circumstances received a combined 2.1 million riel. An elderly woman with a chronic illness received 10 sheets of corrugated zinc roofing and 100,000 riel, as she had requested. Separately, Chik Vichet, whose home had only a roof, with no walls or bed, received additional assistance for a second time: one tonne of cement and 10 sheets of zinc roofing, to help build a more suitable home.
After the visits, the working group organised a solidarity meal to thank the servicemen and the working-group members who had participated in the charitable activities.
Total spending was US$1,682.25, all funded by benefactors and the party working group supporting Ream sangkat in Kampong Som city, Preah Sihanouk province.
