Immigration police report that an investigation identified five additional suspects in alleged fraud and forged residence visas: three Pakistani and two Cambodian nationals. They were detained and referred to the Phnom Penh Municipal Court for legal proceedings.
In a March 23 statement, the General Department of Immigration said the arrests were authorised by its director-general, with procedural coordination by the Phnom Penh Municipal Court and its prosecution office, following information obtained through a Bangladeshi suspect.
The department’s investigation and procedure enforcement unit named the five male suspects as Pakistani nationals KHAN NAEEM (STAVE KHAN), KHAN MEHDI HASSAN (DAWOOD IBRAHIM) and SHAHBAZ MUHAMMAD, and Cambodian nationals Em Ratanak, also called K, and Chim Chankae, also called Meng. The report says six suspects in total, including one Bangladeshi national, were being held at Correctional Centre 1 pending further action.
