On March 24, investigators from Thailand’s Immigration Division 3 raided a luxury villa in Nong Prue, Bang Lamung district, Chonburi, detaining 25 Indian suspects. Police said the villa had been converted into an operating base for large online-gambling websites, with annual flows of about 700 million baht, approximately US$22.36 million. Immigration authorities ordered the raid after a tip about prolonged unusual activity at the property.

Officers found tight security, a garage converted into an enclosed glass office and tarpaulins screening the perimeter. The 25 Indian nationals allegedly had separate marketing, finance and customer-backend roles. The house also had a generator and large stocks of frozen food. The account says personnel were required to remain inside for long periods and minimise trips outside to reduce the risk of discovery.

Police said computer records linked the group to three major gambling websites whose names ended in “777”. They reported daily flows of about 5.6 million Indian rupees, presented as equivalent to annual flows of roughly 700 million baht, or US$22.36 million. More than 80 items, including laptops and phones, were seized. All suspects had entered on tourist visas and were suspected of illegal work. They were handed to local police, who planned to trace funding and related networks, including possible Thai and foreign involvement.
