According to a Cambodian Defence Ministry spokesperson’s statement, at 16:00 on March 27, 2026, the Cambodian Coordination Group (CLG) welcomed two rotating military personnel from Singapore at Siem Reap Angkor International Airport: Major Wong Zheng Ernest and Warrant Officer Shasi Kumar. They joined the ASEAN Observer Team (AOT) in Cambodia, led by the Philippines as ASEAN Chair, to observe, verify and support effective implementation of the measures in the Joint Statement.
Cambodia says it fully supports the AOT and stresses the importance of strengthening its role and mandate to verify and ensure full, effective implementation of the ceasefire and measures agreed by Cambodia and Thailand. It says this promotes transparency, accountability and mutual trust, and welcomes further assistance from friendly countries wishing to participate.
The Cambodian government and Defence Ministry reaffirm their firm, sincere and responsible commitment to fully and consistently respect and implement the Joint Statement of the Third Special Cambodia–Thailand General Border Committee (GBC) Meeting of December 27, 2025, the Joint Declaration on the Cambodia–Thailand Peace Agreement of October 26, 2025, and other relevant agreements, seeking swift recovery, a return to normality and lasting peace and stability.
