Summary

The ministry reported 184 road crashes and 257 injuries nationwide in March 2026, with all three figures lower than in February.

Road crashes claimed more than 100 lives nationwide in March alone. Expressing concern that crashes continued to kill large numbers of people, Interior Minister Sar Sokha strongly urged the public, particularly motorists, to keep observing traffic laws strictly.

Deputy Prime Minister Sar Sokha stressed that complying with traffic rules was not merely a way to avoid fines from the authorities, but a fundamental responsibility to protect one’s own life, one’s family and the well-being of society as a whole.

According to an Interior Ministry report, 184 road crashes occurred nationwide from March 1 to 31, 2026, killing 107 people and injuring 257, with injuries ranging from minor to serious. Compared with February, crashes fell by 18, deaths by 63 and injuries by 160. Despite the declines, the ministry continued to regard road crashes as a major challenge, with recent crashes involving multiple deaths causing particular concern.
