The Ministry of Health issued public guidance on protecting and maintaining health during extreme heat, warning of risks including dehydration and heat stroke.
The ministry said high temperatures could affect children, older people and those with chronic illnesses, requiring particular care. It advised drinking sufficient water, avoiding outdoor activities during intense daytime heat, wearing suitable clothing and resting in cool places.
It also advised attention to food and drinking-water hygiene to prevent infectious diseases, regular attention to one’s health and seeking care at a health centre or hospital if unusual symptoms developed.
The ministry called on people to continue protective measures during the hot weather and forthcoming festivities to safeguard health and safety.
