Following social-media reports of cigarettes being smuggled into Thailand from ដូង village, បឹងរាំង commune, កំរៀង district, Battambang province, the provincial police spokesperson confirmed that such an incident had occurred there. Police said legal procedures were continuing.
In a press statement dated April 8, the Battambang provincial police said they had noted social-media information and photographs concerning cigarette smuggling into Thailand at that location. The spokesperson confirmed the reported incident and said officers were continuing their work within their professional responsibilities and the law.
