Koh Rong’s municipal administration organised festivities in Koh Touch village. The report described the event as both helping preserve national customs and traditions and reflecting the development and tranquillity of tourism on Cambodia’s islands.
Koh Rong Mayor រាជ សុវណ្ណ said the Koh Touch village festivities were being held in preparation for the approaching traditional Khmer New Year.
The event took place on the afternoon of April 7, 2026, with គិត ច័ន្ទគ្រឹស្នា, head of the Royal Government’s local working group for Koh Rong city, attending and Mayor រាជ សុវណ្ណ accompanying him. Civil servants, members of the armed forces and large numbers of residents joined the occasion.
In their exchanges with residents, the leaders conveyed greetings and welcomed local development, while discussing preparations to receive domestic and international tourists during Khmer New Year.
The working-group head and mayor urged local authorities and residents to pay close attention to security, public order and environmental hygiene. They sought to make leisure visits to Koh Rong more attractive and reassuring for visitors to the island, which has considerable tourism potential.
